Calgary Picnic Spots - Bowness Park

Bowness Park Calgary.jpg

Bowness Park Picnic.jpg

Calgary Bowness.jpg

Bowness park, located in NW Calgary is one of the best spots for family picnics in Calgary. This lovely park has some beautiful lagoons located off the Bow river which are used for canoes, kayaks and other paddle craft in the summer. In the winter the lagoons are maintained for skating.

The park offers Bow River access, several nice picnic sites along with playgrounds, mini golf, splash pool for young kids and a very cool miniature train. It also has a parkside cafe and plenty of parking space. However, it tends to get very busy on beautiful summer days so if you want to secure a nice spot, leave home early in the morning.
