2011 Franco Festival Calgary

The first ever Franco Festival is being celebrated in Calgary at Stanley Park from Wednesday, August 31, 2011 to Saturday, September 03, 2011. This festival will have musical performances, dances, exhibitions and food; including the celebration of community identity, presentation of talents and artistic achievements as well as intercultural education heritage of our community. You might not have the Mona Lisa in your living room, but you can find local art at the Festival or if you ever wondered where you can learn French fast so that you can impress your friends then Visit Franco Festival on 3rd September, and find out at the French resource centre.

This festival is being presented by PIA which is a Multicultural Association aimed at facilitating the integration of French-speaking immigrant in the various sectors of Alberta society, to promote justice and human rights, ensure the development and the influence of Francophone community. The launch of the festival on August 31st is by invitation only but on Thursday, Sept 1st, there is a screening of French film which is free for the guests. The concerts tickets on Sept 2nd are priced $20-$25/person and celebrations at Stanley Park on Sept 3rd will cost adults (18-64) $10-$15. Kids and seniors will be free.
