Guide to Calgary Radio Stations

The other day I cam across an interesting Blog post by Brian Mccoll - expert on radio coaching and he had mentioned in his blog that Calgary is one of the most happening radio station city.

The variety is there, more than in some other markets and the stations appear to be trying to stand out from eachother - yes, even when there are multiples of the one format (such as CHR). Well worth taking a listen to one or more of the stations in this town. The rest of Canada seems to be pulling back and playing safe.

Check out the most happening radio stations in the city below:

CJAY 92.9: Rock Fans you'll love this rock station and they offer interesting rewards from time to time for their listeners.
FAN 960: If you love sports then tune into Fan 960 to get updates on your favourite sport whether it be hockey, football, baseball, golf or basketball etc.
Vibe 98.5: One of my favourite stations, Vibe 98.5 has some perky Radio Jockeys like Dani, Marc, Fuzzy, Mastermind and Miss Ange. On September 8th of 2002, Vibe 98-5 signed on as Calgary's newest radio station and has since become one of the highest-ranked Top 40 station in the country.

90.3 AMP Radio: 90.3 is one of the best stations for hip-hop music.
660 News Radio: Interested in news? Check out 660 news. Subscribe to their emails and you'll get instant news alerts.
97.7 Calgary FM: 97.7 FM offers a mix of pop, rock and country.
Q107 is also a good station for Rock and Roll. They often play key tracks off the greatest albums.
XL 103 FM: Country music fans tune into Country 103 to listen to some real music.
CBC radio Calgary offers news on two stations i.e.102.1 FM Calgary and 101.0 AM Calgary
96.9 Jack FM: 96.9 always has something interesting to offer to its listeners. They host fabulous contests and events. Listen to Matt and Eric in the morning and I am sure they'll make you smile.
Energy 101.5: Energy 101.5 is also one of the popular radio stations in Calgary. This radio station is a division of CTVglobemedia and is pretty good too.
